A diary of a 14-year-old girl who witnessed Nazi atrocities and later died at Auschwitz has been unveiled. Story here.
There are some eerie similarities to the Anne Frank story, including the fact that the only survivor of the family was the father. The only question I have about this story is why the friend did not come forward with it sooner, particularly to give it to her father. The story said she did not want to make it public because she thought it was too private, but I can't imagine keeping such a thing from the girl's father after her death. I don't know the whole story, though.

That sounds really interesting, Buckleupp.
Perhaps the friend didn't want it compared to Anne Frank? Morrigan

It is very likely that the woman who had the diary even knew the father was still alive and where he was at that. To this woman it was an extremely personal and private thing, perhaps she could not bear till now to part with it. The important thing is that she has shared it and it belongs to the world now.
