I apologize if this site has already been covered, but I did a thorough search and honestly couldn't find it here anywhere. (I searched using Shelly the Republican, then Shelley Republican, then Republican. )

Anyway, here's the site:

A friend of mine on another site posted it. I thought there is no way that can be real. But it's kind of hard to tell. It's either something like the onion (with less obvious irony) or a seriously messed up individual.

Please tell me this is just satire. That was the conclusion I came to, but some other people still insist it's real, so I thought I'd come here for more seasoned opinions.

I thought it sounded like a satire for a host of other reasons. That particular part there just made me think she didn't want to be sued because her views are so contentious.

LOL I don't know, but there are a bunch of other oddly phrased bits on that site that basically made me think it had to be a farce. I just can't see that site being real.

Still...there's that one bit of me that goes "oh geez, if someone like Fred Phelps can exist, this can be real too, I suppose."

FYI update
www.alexa.com lists shelleytherepublican.com as a parody but says that shelleygop.com is an actual Republican site.

Searching Alexa for Democratic parody sites I don't find any. Apparently Republicans don't have a sense of humor. As an example The Daily Show and Colbert Report are actually funny, however the Half Hour News Hour is merely pathetic.

If others in the know say this is a parody, I'll take their word for it. But I have met a few people who say things like that all the time and really mean it. It's true, though, that even the Republican party as a whole isn't this bad.

ETA: I see there's a reference in there to "my Promise Keepers group." Since the PKs are male-only, that's another sign this isn't for real, or at least that Shelley isn't who "she" says she is.
