To begin with, there is no indication Paulson was in Europe when he allegedly was arrested.

Second, while the article takes a hit at the mainstream USAn press for not covering it, doesn't seem to be any coverage in mainstream European/German press.

Third, Merkle was in the USA last week and spoke rather positively about Cheney, Paulson and Bush ( source )

In Berlin Friday, Merkel's spokesman said the U.S. side, which included Vice Presdident Dick Cheney, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Bush's national security adviser, Stephen Hadley, promised to inform Merkel in detail about Rice's Mideast trip.
