NO GAS MAY 15TH?

The "No Gas On May 15th" email is particularly annoying because it doesn't ASK you to participate, it ORDERS you to take part. "No one will buy gas on May 15th."

Oh, REALLY? Well, I have some very bad news for these idiots. I am buying TWO tanks of gas on May 15th. Can you guess why? I'm going to waste a whole tank driving around smacking my so-called friends in the head with a rolled-up newspaper for giving in to such idiotic nonsense.

Sadly, many of my friends - majoring in environmental science and ecology, no less - have fallen for this and joined the Facebook group. At least one person posted a link to snopes' debunking, but that has gone without comment. Le sigh.

A couple of people I know joined the facebook group too. I wanted to post something on the group's wall, but they they insist that they don't want to hear any opinions contrary to theirs.

I clicked to CNN this morning and noticed that they had the snopes gasout page up behind the speaker. It was partway through the story, though, so I missed if there was a recommendation to go to snopes and get the scoop.
