The Whois entry for that IP address doesn't seem to be related to Target Stores.

That should be a big giveaway that it has nothing to do with Target. Its one of those Pyramid Schemes where you have to purchase stuff from their partners.

If Target was involved in a lawsuit, it would have made national news and there would be a mention of it at target.com. Furthermore, any kind of a settlement would not be individual $500 gift cards. It would be at most 5-10 bucks.

I guarantee they won't be thanking you. Rather they may file a restraining order...
