I like the way they prove God exists by quoting... erm, God...

Or you could always paraphrase Star Wars, who's the bigger fool the one who leads or the one who follows?

It's not the things I don't believe in that I'm worried of harming me, it's the mindless adherents to the things I don't believe in that are a serious threat.

I don't think that and neither do any of the other atheists I know. (I assume the missing word be tween "atheist" and "that" is "think.")

I was so wondering where I should post this:

I stumbled onto that bit of logic as a teenager. It was one of the many reasons I ended up becoming an atheists

I hate the trope that atheists are stubborn. I don't want to die, and sometimes it's bloody hard to have courage and do good and keep going when nobody's watching and there's no reward. I'd rather have some supernatural force take care of me, but I haven't found one.
Pictures like that are backslapping by believers for believers. They have nothing to say to someone who doesn't believe. If he's doesn't care about insulting people, don't feed the troll. If he would never insult people to their face but will do it in a cowardly way like this, mildly tell him it's rude. |

Other than the fact that they say they don't believe in any gods, I don't know of even one difference between atheists and non-atheists.

Some of them write books about not believing in god.

Even when attempting to maintain historical context, the idea of a god that creates humans and gets angry and dishes out vicious punishments if they fail to show sufficient levels of sucking up and is also adamant that no other gods exist but paranoid about his worshipers switching over to follow a different god and so requires them to constantly prove their devotion to him through a variety of tests is disturbing.

To some, it's disturbing; to others, it's consistent with their theology:

Some of us find that theology disturbing.

Do you mean to imply by this that the same is not true for some theists?

I'm not aware of any theists who write books about them not believing in God, no. Are you?

I think ganz meant that people often write books about what they believe (or don't) in.
