A former Pleasant Point man has proved computer guru Steve Jobs wrong – an iPhone really can be a bagpipe.
It is now urban legend that the Apple co-founder once told an interviewer: "iPhone can really be anything ... except a bagpipe". http://www.stuff.co.nz/timaru-herald...n-be-a-bagpipe |

The app doesn't make the iPhone into a bagpipe. It makes it into an electronic device that is played like, and sound like, a bagpipe.
ETA: And no, if it walks like a bagpipe and sounds like a bagpipe, it is not a bagpipe. Nor a duck. |

Played like a bagpipe? You have to tuck it under your arm?
![]() Actually, as the guy talks about his own experience of learning the fingering on the chanter, it seem as though it is played 'something like' a chanter, but sounds like the pipes. |

When you play the bagpipe app in the iPhone it doesn't echo. . . and no one knows why.
