Ol' Morgan Earp is looking pretty lively for being dead a year.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were both only teenagers in 1883 (17 and 16, respectively).

"Most unique" is poor usage. "Unique" cannot be qualified, since it means "without compare; standing alone." Something can be unique, but it can't be more unique or most unique, since by definition anything unique cannot be compared to anything else at all.

Surely this is a fact that Morgan Erp would have known.

Many authors of usage guides, editors, teachers, and others feel strongly that such “absolute” words as complete, equal, perfect, and especially unique cannot be compared because of their “meaning”: a word that denotes an absolute condition cannot be described as denoting more or less than that absolute condition. However, all such words have undergone semantic development and are used in a number of senses, some of which can be compared by words like more, very, most, absolutely, somewhat, and totally and some of which cannot.

I find it interesting that despite all his work, he never noticed that Morgan Earp couldn't be in the photo because he was dead at the time it was taken.

And Teddy Roosevelt does NOT look good for a 25 year old.

I think he's not taking the date associated with the names as fact. There's some estimating when it could be taken.

I thought that except for the non-famous and Johnson (who he constantly calls Johnston for some reason) he had given up on trying to confirm the famous names and more correctly tried to identify the actual people in the photo. It's fascinating to see how this ordinary photo developed into a kind of relic.
