I received the following email today and it was sent to everyone on the sender's email address book.
Is there any way you can verify whether or not it is true? "As an American I am not so shocked that Obama was given The Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name, because America gave him the White House based on the same credentials." -- Newt Gingrich |

Even if Gingrich did say that, who really cares? Newt hasn't been in a position of power since like 1998 and he's been a hypocrite for much longer than that. So who cares what this washed up con man has to say?

But he's a history professor! The intellectual of the Republican party! People like him are what stands between us and the next Hitler! He's changing the world at a foundational level! He knows big words, like "foundational"!

While appropriately nasty, it doesn't have the ring of Gingrich's style for me. He would have thrown in a couple of bigger words and an historical analogy that made no real sense, only most people wouldn't know it (and Gingrich would know they wouldn't know it).

If he's a history professor, I'm a teenager.

It doesn't use "frankly". I vote fake.
ETA: Actually, I have no problem believing this is Newt. It does sound like him, minus his usual adverbs. Last edited by Spam & Cookies-mmm; 05 January 2012 at 02:35 PM. |
