Icon19 Rumored Disney park in Missouri is 'shenanigans'
People in rural Newton County will have to forget, at least for now, the prospect of selling their land for big bucks to the Walt Disney Co.

After rumors flew that Disney was planning to build a $1.1 billion theme park in the area, Presiding Commissioner Jerry Carter got the word that, as he put it, it's "shenanigans."

Not a theme park but a themed hotel near Branson. That makes sense. I don't see how anyone could imagine a full fledged Disneyland here.

I agree. The Missouri Ozarks are far too beautiful to be bulldozing for a fake Matterhorn.
