A friend of mine sent me a link to
this article, with the words "No Joke!" in the subject line of the email:

BURBANK, CA - Reports are emerging from members of the movie industry that the Department of Homeland Security has designated the 1982 film TRON as "sensitive", and ordered Walt Disney Studios to turn over all copies of the film in its posession. Retailers are also receiving notices to remove all copies of the film from stock shelves and turn them over to Federal officials. The reports have industry insiders bewildered and outraged.

The piece goes on to explain that a few scenes from the film were shot at the Lawrence Livermore Nuclear Lab, and that they possibly contained senstive information -- even though the particular facility was closed and dismantled in 1981.
It had me scratching my head for a moment, but fortunately, a quick Google search turned up a reference to it from someone with slightly sharper eyes than me. They pointed out the following quote:

"We are carefully reviewing disclosure procedures and criteria concerning any nuclear information that could be misused by terrorists," said FBI agent Lirpa Sloof, official bureau spokesperson in Los Angeles.

The article is a few days early for the ubiqitous Ms. Sloof (actually I think she's usually known as "Loof") but it definitely does clarify things. It's nice to be reassured that the Homeland Security department isn't
that stupid...
