![]() ETA: Text of the notice for anybody using a screen reader, etc.: Good news! This office is closed. Why is that good news? Because it means we are winning the battle against the liberal/socialist ideology dominating our lamestream medi and our government. Recent polls indicate a growing majority for our state party. Our battle against freeloading union thugs and their taxpayer supported pensions has been wildly successful. The war on Obamacare and the right to take from the successful to give to the lazy has been effective. And every day, it's looking more like our foreign-born, Socialist President with a forged birth certificate will go down to defeat in 2012, in our state and others, with landslide margins. In short, this office is no longer needed. Please, keep up the good work! In November of next year, we'll celebrate our rebirth as a Christian nation dedicated to the ideals that made us great - faith, family, and the free market. Is there even a question about this being something other than a fake?

Seriously, I mean we have nothing to go on it being 'real' other then their word on it, its just a piece of paper and all.
I find the overwhelming amount of conservo-speak in it just seems unlikely, plus while I don't know what this office in question does, I imagine any republican who honestly believes that the battle is 'won' and they don't need to work anymore on furthering their aims is very out of touch with their own party and certainly America. I'm quite certain its fake, maybe made by the same people who made the McDonalds one ![]() -MB |

Just plain 'Republican Party' letterhead seems like a dead give away to me. I'd would expect it to be more specific and maybe contain at least part of an address.

Agreed, a real note would have the actual office's name on the stationary- "Orange County Republican Party" and likely the address and phone number as well.
Also, we can't actually tell what it's attached to is, just that it's a pane of glass. Could be a window or a door. |

Comment: I saw this photo posted with this message: "LOOK AT THIS!
I went with my sister-in-law to a strip mall, and on the door of the Republican campaign headquarters, this notice was posted... Looks like the GOP is pretty confident in their prospects for 2012". The lack of verifiable attribution or even a mention of where the office was supposedly located (note the letterhead doesn't even have an address on it) would indicate to me it's a hoax.

Another sign it might not be legitimate. It is on the outside of the glass. Many notices from a business are on the inside of the glass so they cannot be removed, damaged, or defaced.
