Icon05 Hi ther.e blovely--dots and Bs spam

A search turned up nothing, but I have a feeling I'll be chowed. I've been getting a whole slew of junk mail with random extra Bs and periods scattered throughout. They talk about how they saw my profile (uhh what profile?) and want to meet me when they're in town. Then they assure me they're "a lovely girl.b" (named Rodrigo according to one sender name ) and ask me to write them. Are they trolling for addresses to inundate with spam? I'm curious about it since they're not explicitly selling things like most do.

I've had similar spam, don't have a cite to hand but:

a lot of spam filters are trained to mark messages with certain "key words" as spam. while "na.ked womebn" might be fairly easy for us to translate, it can help in making sure the messages get through (tho filters are gradually picking up on these).

I'd guess these messages are a method for spammers to validate what addresses are valid and in use and what addresses are not, making it easier to target their ads.
