Comment: This is suppose to be the roots of the Chinese fleeceflower. What
I have read about it is that it's not uncommon for these roots to take human forms, many think it's fake, but the Chinese swear it's real.

Shaped fruit & veg isn't all that uncommon:
![]() (Note that the green Buddha melon and the whiye Buddha melon have used the same mold.) Here's how it's done: ![]() I'm guessing with the fleeceflower tubers they form them in molds and when they're fully formed they take them out they plant them in the ground for a while to let them grow out a little. The male & female-shaped tubers in the first post seem to be from the same molds as these two: ![]() I think you can even see where the build-up of roots indicate where the two halves of the mold joined down the legs. The tubers in the first post seem to have been let grow in the ground for a longer period and have lost their shape a little. |

I hope the handlers are wearing earplugs. Otherwise the roots will scream them to death.

I love it when words like "Photoshop" pop out at you from the middle of a bunch of Vietnamese text...
(It's probably saying that it isn't Photoshopped - I'm not doubting your explanation. But it's still funny.) |

oh my god. I need this like breathing.
Curse my google fu and inability to find any molds! (except some silly face ones) I'm getting into my gardening kick early this year, and how awesome would it be to actually grow some mandrake shaped roots? |
