I think I've seen the picture of the boy before, sans elephant. But can not recall where or when.

I did find the OP picture at FunXite.com, which I would suspect to be the origin of the pretty obvious photoshop (obvious, IMO).

It looks like it could be Philippe de Lacy, a child actor from the 1920s, but I haven't been able to find that particular shot sans elephant, so I could be completely wrong.

ETA: I found the original, it's Dickie Moore from the Our Gang shorts, someone substituted an elephant for Petey.

Thanks Syllavus, I knew that I have seen the picture before from the start. Could not place where unitl Malruhs mentioned "Our gang". Then it all came back.
