"Interstate 5, north of San Ysidro Border Crossing, near San Diego"

Another image of a (presumably) different sign.

Carlos Mencia featured the sign on his show.

Growing up in San Diego, I've seen these signs so much throughout my life that it always catches me a little off guard when I see an e-mail like this going around with people wondering, debating, or doubting whether it's a real. I don't blame them for it and I'm not saying it's not reasonable for them to be surprised at what they see--I understand that people in different parts of the country wouldn't necessarily see these signs where they live. It's just something I've seen so many times that I don't think twice when I see it.

Later this week I'm driving up to Orange County and I'll be passing one of these signs by the Border Patrol Checkpoint at San Onofre. I'll try to get a picture as I go by.

Anyone who has driven I-5 between LA and San Diego has seen these signs. They are posted within a few miles either direction of the immigration checkpoint near San Onofre.

I drove by the San Onofre checkpoint yesterday and had my phone-camera all set to get a picture to post in this thread, but apparently they've taken down the signs there.

I can think back to a few times in the past when I actually saw people crossing the freeway near the Border Patrol Checkpoint as well.
