TV Late night talk show political humor

Comment: Just got this from a friend, but the jokes seem too
mean-spirited, politically biased, and controversial for the usual
late-night fodder. Also Conan's first show back is tonight.

You know the honeymoon is over when the comedians start.

The liberals are asking us to give Obama time. We agree . . . and think 25
to life would be appropriate.
--Jay Leno

America needs Obama-care like Nancy Pelosi needs a Halloween mask.
--Jay Leno

Q: Have you heard about McDonald's' new Obama Value Meal?
A: Order anything you like and the guy behind you has to pay for it.
--Conan O'Brien

Q: What does Barack Obama call lunch with a convicted felon?
A: A fund raiser.
--Jay Leno

Q: What's the difference between Obama's cabinet and a penitentiary?
A: One is filled with tax evaders, blackmailers, and threats to society.
The other is for housing prisoners.
--David Letterman

Q: If Nancy Pelosi and Obama were on a boat in the middle of the ocean and
it started to sink, who would be saved?
A: America !
--Jimmy Fallon

Q: What's the difference between Obama and his dog, Bo?
A: Bo has papers.
--Jimmy Kimmel

Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.
--David Letterman

Yea do these people think anyone would believe that Jimmy Fallon is making Birther jokes? Seriously? What planet are the forwarder of these emails from?

I also love that they tried to sneak a Conan O'Brien one in there. His show premiered tonight, what show was he supposed to make that "joke" on?

Letterman and Kimmel, to the extent they wade into politics at all, are notably liberal and like to mock Republicans. The other late night hosts are too middle-of-the-road to want to get into it at all save for the occasional "Washington's full of crooks" gags that have been around forever. But why bother with consistency when you can just attach a famous name to a bad joke and act like that's indicative of something.

And I never thought I would say this, but Jay Leno's funnier than that.

Those "Q/A" format jokes are nothing like the types of jokes that late night hosts use. They're never phrased that way. There's also the fact that even Leno wouldn't use that sort of garbage, and that Leno is the only one who even borders on being right-wing.

The Tonight Show. This one's been going around for almost two years.
