Snake Snake bus

Comment: Had to send this on - amazing! It was to draw attention to the
Zoo. It apparently caused several car and pedestrian accidents. And a few
Zoo membership cancelations. Guess they thought if this can escape heavens
knows what else they have!!

Comment: best bus paint job, ever! Does make you wonder what percent of
the cost to ride went to paying for the paint job.

I vote fake. Unless there are heavy duty structural members between the snakes coils, the crumpled parts would be continuous as opposed to three seperate sections between the wheels. Also none of the windows have shattered, and they are much weaker than the metal.

If it is real, I would guess that it's a 3D-type paint job, not a bus with an actual large snake-like object wrapped around it.

I think snopes is right. It's a clever "paint" job, which is probably actually a vehicle wrap. IIRC, the Toronto Zoo has done similar marketing.

ETA: the bus is from Copenhagen. Here are the details.

This appears to be the origin of the photo:

If you check Google images for *Copenhagen Zoo Bus* you can see lots of images of this bus. Or rather, this image multiple times; there don't appear to be any other pictures of it.

It looks like it could be real, and if it is, I would suspect it is done with something like this.

However, Googling the image results in only this exact image, or cropped versions thereof, so I would guess it is just a concept rather than something that has been carried out on an actual bus. Too bad--it is really cool.

ETA: Wow, spanked multiple times! That's what I get for taking so long to look up bus wraps.

Looks like a pretty typical vinyl bus wrap. We see a bit of that around Los Angeles. It's just an optical illusion. You can see the bus's actual profile above and below the graphic. Cool wrap, though!

Here's some photos of one of theose buses in the street. The illusion doesn't work quite as well when they have to cut out parts of the snake around the edges of the doors:

Default It was a real plastic-wrapped bus for the Copenhagen Zoo:
