It is an old scam with a sneaky new twist. Nigerian criminals -- known for lottery scams -- are now using hard-to-resist puppies for sale.

or do proper research and find a local, ethical breeder. My "purse dog" isn't imbred, and the dog I did get from the local shelter had to be put up for adoption because he was simply too destructive. (the shelter told us he had never shown destructive tendencies. Take him home and he chews through two layers of chain link fence)

I think a better lesson here is, get your puppy in person, and do your research.

Agreed! We adopted our "Pitbull" puppy from the Humane Society. 7 weeks old, had been returned and was on sale! She's the best, loviest pooch ever! All my dogs have been Humane Society dogs.

And scamming with puppies is just plain WRONG!
