So depending on the type, you could easily fall off/out of the thing & a gun could easily fall off too, & if one is drinking anything could be possible, even in the enclosed ones.

he was refering to a company commercially manufacturing and selling stands and would therefore be held to the safety standards in effect. I see now that "deer stand maker" could refer to anyone knocking up a deer stand not for sale - but offered for the use of others.

On the other hand, if I offered you free of charge a device I'd built myself, and in using it you hurt yourself because it was unsafe you might have a case against me - I don't know
