Icon81 'Heathers' deaths

Comment: Is it true that several of the stars of the 1988 film Heathers
died in manners eerily related to certain lines they delivered? For
instance, the boy who says "I hope nothing like this ever happens to me, I
don't think I could handle suicide" ended up committing suicide; and the
girl who asked another if she had "had a brain tumor for breakfast" died
of a brain tumor.

I don't even want to know about any chainsaw-related deaths.

Of course both of the boys were, ironically, big fans of mineral water.

According to Wikipedia, Jeremy Applegate, who played Peter Dawson in the movie, committed suicide.

Also, Kim Walker, who played Heather Chandler, died of a brain tumor.

It has been too long since I have seen this movie to remember if these are the characters referenced in the OP, however.

ETA: And, of course, even if these two actors did die in ways vaguely related to their roles in the film, so what? It should not be surprising that an actor's manner of death might parallel one of his or her acting roles.

Okay, apparently it was Kim Walker who spoke the line "Did you eat a brain tumor for breakfast?" in Heathers.

Does Christian Slater's career count? Or was that more of a wimper than a bang.

If a third Heathers cast member dies in a way related to their line, then I'll admit it's a really weird coincidence. Two is only mildly weird.

I saw the writer of Heathers, Dan Waters, at the Screenwriting Expo a couple of years ago. He was certainly an odd bird, even for a screenwriter. He hasn't had much success since Heathers.

Given that one is a suicide, only VERY mildly - only Walker's brain tumor is particularly weird.

Applegate's suicide is an interesting coincidence, but the film is FULL of talk of suicide, so if any cast member committed suicide, they'd have probably said something about it in the movie, and suicide is sadly not nearly uncommon enough for it to be surprising that any actor in a given film committed suicide.
