THE ENEMY WITHIN!
This is the "dude" that some people want to be the next President of the United States Scary isn't it??????? Speaking bluntly, in a real presidential election, no one in their right mind would vote for Obama. That would be like voting for the guy who just moved in down the street from you, that you wave to from time to time but don't know a thing about. That's Obama. He's been a US Senator for about 100 days, give or take a week. Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim while admitting that he was once a Muslim, mitigating that damning information by saying that, for two years, he also attended a Catholic school. Obama's father, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. was a radical Muslim who migrated from Kenya to Jakarta, Indonesia. He met Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, a white atheist from Wichita, Kansas at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Obama, Sr. and Dunham divorced when Barack, Jr. was two. Obama's spinmeisters are now attempting to make it appear that Obama's introduction to Islam came from his father and that influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya immediately following the divorce and never again had any direct influence over his son's education. Dunham married another Muslim, Lolo Soetoro who educated his stepson as a good Muslim by enrolling him in one of Jakarta's Wahabbi schools. Wahabbism is the radical teaching that created the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad on the industrialized world. Since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when you are seeking political office in the United States, Obama joined the United Church of Christ to help purge any notion that he is still a Muslim, which, ideologically, he remains today. |

Ya know, everybody's conversion story is personal to them; if Obama converted because it was politically expedient, that is at least as valid as doing it because it's the family religion.
But who freakin' cares, already? It is about time we get over this meaningless horsehockey. |

From the article in clickAfrica.com
1. His father was a goat-hearder who won scholarships to college and became an economist who worked for the Kenyen government. 2. In the four years he lived in Jakarta between the ages of 6 and 10 he attended 2 years of Muslim school and two years of Catholic school. 3. The last 8 years of his education were in Hawaii at a private secular school. He lived with his maternal grandparents for a while, then with his mother. [ETA] From a PBS article on Wahhabi: 4. Wahhabi is primarily a Saudi sect of Muslim. The "explosion" of Wahhabi schools beyond Saudi Arabia didn't occur until the 1970's. Obama attended a Muslim school in the late 1960's. There is no reason to assume that a Muslim school in Jakarta was a Wahhabi school; in fact the opposite is true. That he attended a Wahhabi school is a claim that needs to be proven.[/ETA] BTW, exactly what is the basis for the claim that he is Muslim? Does he go to a mosque? Does he pray five times a day facing Mecca? Does he do anything to indicate he's a Muslim or has he since leaving Jakarta? Having a Muslim father and stepfather for six of his first ten years isn't a compelling argument. If, indeed, he is a Muslim are we to believe that he is a radical Muslim who has hidden his religion since 1971 when he was 10 with the intent to become President and bring down the US government? The scary thing is the depth of the religious paranoia of some people.

Another thing is the 'we barely know him' aspect of it. Lets face it, if he's serious about running for president, the media and everybody else will ensure we know EVERTHING about him in the next two years... whether it's true or not...

BTW, before I accepted the claim that he is "ideologically" Muslim (the implication being that he is a radical terrorist type Muslim), I would demand examples of activities from his years at Columbia, Harvard Law, working for the church-based social activism group, or in the Illinois Senate to prove it. It isn't as though this guy was hiding underground for the past 25 years.

A "good Muslim" wouldn't use marijuana and cocaine as Obama has admitted he did in his teens.
He was raised primarily by his mother and his maternal grandparents who were "Protestant stock" but, it is widely reported, were not religious (atheists). It would seem odd that his mother and grandparents would raise him to be a Muslim while not following any religion of their own. From an article on Worldpress.com we learn that Obama's grandfather was his village's first convert to Islam and, though Obama's father was Muslim, his (Obama's father) benefactory was Tom Mboya, a Kenyen who was educated in Catholic schools and who seems to have no connection to Islam. (BTW, the CIA' currently estimates the Muslim population of Kenya at 10%. The country is predominantly Christian.) ETA: His step father is widely described as a "non-practicing Muslim". I haven't found the source, it could be Obama's book because it is usually encased in quotes.

I have found no reason to believe that Obama wanted to persue any religion on his own. It seems unlikely that the maternal grandparents would impose Islam on him simply because his father and/or stepfather were Muslims. No one is Obama's family seems to be strongly committed to any religion though his father had more than one wife. However, polygamy is not uncommon in Kenya and not limited to Muslims.

Scary? No way! What really is scary to me is the evident and blatant demagoguery revealed in the original post here. Sounds much like a column I would expect to read in the Unification Church leader’s, Sun Myung Moon, Washington Times. It is my opinion that it is this style of hate mongering rhetoric that leads to so much angry divisiveness in our country today. Obfuscation of facts is one thing but outright misrepresentation of the facts is another.
Click here and read some fact pertinent to this issue: http://mediamatters.org/items/200612200005 Schlussel made similar comments for which Media Matters for America gave her credit for one of the most outrageous comments of 2006: Right wing pundit Debbie Schlussel on Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL): So, even if he identifies strongly as a Christian ... is a man who Muslims think is a Muslim, who feels some sort of psychological need to prove himself to his absent Muslim father, and who is now moving in the direction of his father's heritage, a man we want as President when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam? Where will his loyalties be?" [12/18/06] |

I won't vote for him because the OP states that one of his parents was an atheist.
Okay, it looks like the anti-Democratic spin folks are starting early (and hard). The OP is a great collection of junk to "scare" "normal" Americans away from this "evil" person. Wait, if he becomes President, won't that mean he will declare jihad on the people who attacked HIS country (i.e., the US)? It would be a reason for those type of people to vote FOR him. If a country even hints to support the terrorists that attacked the US, he will BOMB them into the stone age, saying it is the will of God. Okay, I'll stop...

Silly Doug. Everyone knows that Muslims, even those born in the US, have no real loyalty to the United States. Just like Catholics give their loyalty to the Pope first and thus are unsuited to be President. Remember?

The British Royal Family still aren't allowed to marry Catholics for that reason...

Well actually the members of the Royal Family can marry Catholics, they just can't marry a Catholic and be a reigning monarch.

Canuckistan posted this link to the right wing Insight Magazine which has a story on the information in the OP. [ETA: Gotta wonder if "the source" is a forwarded email.]
Despite going throught the whole pack of lies to "the source" (allegedly from inside the Hillary Clinton campaign), Insight does dispute its own story at the end by referring to Obama's book. I suppose we are suppose to either stop reading before we get to that part or make the natural assumption that Obama would lie about things that can easily be checked out and believe "the source" instead.
