Comment: Thanks for getting the page up regarding the whole "donate via
text message for Haiti" thing. It sounded suspicious to me, especially since I heard about it via Facebook... guess where I checked first to see if it was legit. Great job, as usual, y'all. |

Comment: The article I wish to comment on is this one:
http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/charity/haiti.asp I just want to say THANK YOU for providing some insight in these frantic kneejerk reaction spam/hoax/fraud filled times in the Haiti relief effort. The amount of misinformation on Facebook and the like is almost enough to make me throw up. I really do appreciate all the work you wonderful people do. |

Thank you for your easy to understand chart on what is true and what is not. Nothing deflates a relief effort more than people feeling duped by opportunists. GREAT JOB!!! |

Comment: Dear Snopes people: Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the
work you do in clearing up the junk on the internet that keeps being sent as "truth." The internet is a wonderful tool, but it is so badly abused by unthinking, ignorant people who just "accept" whatever comes to them as "truth," especially if it already supports their mind-set. The most recent one I received is the one on the various Democratic politicians who had a relative named "Remus" who was hanged as a horse thief and his geanological record was changed. I so much appreciate being able to turn to your site for truth in these instances. |

Comment: Thank you very much for staying on top of the Haiti rumors! It is
amazing that you have so much information about rumors regarding Haiti relief and donations and such even though the earthquake was so recent. I really appreciate your efforts to keep us informed and protect us from being unwitting victims of scams and frauds. Keep up the GREAT work!! |

Comment: Hi, Barbara and David.
Just want to thank you two for your very objective research and de-bunking of the silly urban legends and conspiracy theories that so easily spread, especially throughout the Internet. I happen to be a Christian, and I have noticed that, even when you're talking about scripture, you manage to do it in a middle-of-the-road manner, without expressing an opinion. (Example: According to Revelation, President obama is the Antichrist.) Whenever I receive one of those silly e-mail "forwards," snopes.com is the first place I look to get the true scoop. Thanks for your careful and -also entertaining- work! |

Comment: Dearest Snopes (aka Barbara & David Mikkelson),
Thank you for all you do! I must access your site at least once a day and have for many years! With so much junk and half-truths floating around on the internet, I can always count on you for keeping us straight and shedding some light onto ridiculous forwards and circulating propaganda. I ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS check your site first before forwarding any forwards. I've always enjoyed your candor and humor as you respectfully suggest an alternative way of thinking. It's easy to look at things in only one way and have tunnel vision when it comes to things that are meaningful and close to your heart, so I do appreciate how you present your opinions and facts. Keep up the good work! Happy New Year! |

Comment: Thanks again for being there when I most need to check out false
rumors, scam emails etc. In the past 2 days I have been able to find out information on your site to show that at least 3 emails that I received were either totally false or at least partially false. (and 2 of these fake emails are at least 10 years old!) Keep up the good work! You folks are a God send and worth every minute of the valuable time and effort that you put into exposing false statements or verifying true ones. Thank you once again. |

possibly the most referred to site in all the web. Not to mention has cut down on the amount of spam and junk mail that use to plug up our inboxes. Snopes.com is a superhero of websites. |

Comment: Good afternoon,
I'd just like to drop a line to commend the writers of Snopes.com on providing balanced (as if truth ever required "balance") myth-debunking. After investigating the section dedicated to Obama and being disappointed to learn that most of the rumors (Muslim, communist, etc) are not true, I thought for sure you guys were libs. Then I investigated the Bush site to verify that suspicion...only to learn that most of the rumors about Bush (low IQ, feces vs fetus malaprop) are also not true. Great job on staying non-ideological. Its always nice to know that there is at least one site who does investigative stuff without an agenda. Keep up the good work. |

Comment: Dear Snopes,
After checking your site, as I have many times in the past, to find that yet another e-mail I've received is bogus, I wanted to send a note to say THANK YOU for the helpful, practical information and perspective provided by Snopes. I love Snopes! I often find myself directing family members and friends to your site after they forward e-mails that seem questionable. I'm a naturally suspicious sort and like to get to the truth of the matter. It's nice to be able to recommend your site to my more gullible friends. Thank you for providing a way to sift through all the interesting, but sometimes crazy, content out there on the web! |
