It sounds pretty bizarre to me, but some reputable sources indicate that psychotherapy might be able to help cure warts.

In one controlled trial, which compared hypnosis to no treatment at all, 53% of the hypnotized patients — but none of the unhypnotized patients — lost at least some of their warts. Another trial compared hypnotic suggestion (of the warts healing and shrinking) to salicylic acid (the standard treatment for warts), placebo salicylic acid, and no treatment. The hypnotized participants lost significantly more warts than subjects in the other three groups.

This link cites the above-mentioned study specifically: Spanes NP, Williams V, Gwynn MI. Effects of hypnotic, placebo, and salicylic acid treatments on wart progression. Psychosom Med 1990;52:109-14.)
Has anybody else here ever heard of this kind of claim? Is the evidence sound?
