Default Similar Threads feature

I only today spotted a list of "Similar Threads" at the bottom of a thread page.

Is that a new feature? Or didn't I just scroll down far enough before?

And how is the similarity calculated? It's based on key words, I presume, but it doesn't seem to be based on thread title only.

ETA: The list for this thread gives me:

  • Newlywed Game to Feature First Gay Couple
  • Why do we say “bless you” (or similar) when someone sneezes?
  • Device similar to pipe bomb explodes at Disney

It seems to be based on thread titles (keywords "feature" and "similar" in this case).

I noticed this yesterday, and was similarly wondering if I had overlooked it all this time.

I like it!

Computer

The "Similar Threads" feature in an option that I just hadn't ever enabled until a few days ago.

From now on, all my thread titles will contain the words defenestration and colonoscopy.
