How absolutely horrible.

I must say, tho, the small amount of information the article has got me asking lots of questions.

Where did the dog come from? Did the woman own it? (If so) Did she not keep the dog closed up in a separate room from the child she was babysitting? Did the dog show any previous signs of hostility? (If so) Who in their right mind would leave their toddler with someone with a dog who had shown previous signs of hostility. If the woman didn't own the dog, how did they get in a situation where the dog and child were brought together? Did they go to the park or something and someone let their vicious dog off leash? Did anything seem to provoke the attack? Do they actually know whose dog it is so that the matter can be further investigated and, if necessary, the dog can be put down?

In the end, I suppose none of it matters all that much, because the child is still dead. How completely horrible.

Very sad. From another article I found, it sounds like the dog belonged to the babysitter:

Quote:
He was at a babysitter’s house, when he reportedly wandered into the backyard, and then mauled by a pit bull.

And I just found this too:
Quote:
Authorities say a woman was babysitting Colton at a Delhi home Friday when her family's 65-pound pit bull bit his throat and dragged him around the yard. She says she rescued the boy after stabbing the dog with a fork.
