Military Top Gun

Comment: I've heard that 'Top Gun' was originally going to be a sequel to 'An Officer and a Gentlemen.'

According to Wikipedia and an interview from the DVD of Top Gun:
Quote:
The screenplay was written by Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr., and was inspired by an article written by Ehud Yonay for California Magazine entitled "Top Guns.
Jerry Brukheimer never mentions "An officer and a Gentlemen' in the interview.
