“A dart piercing an eyeball is 100 percent preventable,” she said. “Eliminate the game.”
Or...

1. Don't go to the fair.
2. If you go to the fair, stay the hell away from dart games.
3. Enclose the dart game so that only the person throwing the darts is at any kind of risk from the dart.
4. Provide protective goggles for those in proximity to the dart game or people with those playing the dart game (but who are not playing themselves).
5. Actually inflate the balloons enough so that dart bouncing is much less likely.

Very few situations in life have only two options. No situations in life (that readily come to mind) have only one.

Yeah, but a $2 crap toy is a lot cheaper than a lawsuit.

I wonder how she would feel about the knife-throwing or the axe-throwing at the ren faire?

Do you or your daughter ride in cars? Play sports? Have knives at home? You're at a much higher risk of being injured by these than a dart at a fair. And these are known risks. Shall we send a moving truck to remove all the dangerous items out of your home? Well, your home itself can be dangerous. There could be a fire or a gas leak or it could collapse. I wonder what that leaves you with? I'd say pillows but you might get accidentally smothered by those.

You are forgetting that oxygen itself is dangerous in a high enough concentration. So I suppose that maybe you could have a grain of sand... But NO oxygen, it could kill you!!!!

I've been saying for years that pretty soon corners are going to be illegal. All furniture and items will be required to have rounded edges because corners are dangerous.

She said the fair should at least put up warning signs and require safety equipment for this weekend.

She said she was disappointed in the Fair’s response. “I expect them to take some safety precautions or at least care that it happened,” she said.
I'd say she not only suggested a measure that would, in fact, effectively prevent all future dart-related eyeball piercings on the midway, but she also offered an option that would -- if dart-throwing is to remain on the midway -- lessen the risk of injury to other fair-goers. What's the problem?

But then some wacko alarmist group would complain about the significant rise in blunt force traumas.

Ooh, I know one with only two options: Cake or death?
