As the push gets under way to immunize Americans against swine flu and the seasonal flu, infectious-disease experts warn that many adults haven't received vaccinations for at least half a dozen other preventable diseases — some of which could put people who get influenza at even greater risk for complications and death.

Is there a set vaccine schedule for adults? I know you should get a tetanus shot every 10 years, but other shots?

I was getting tetnus shots routinely, being career military.
Plus each time I got a puncture wound they would check my medical record and sometimes give me a booster shot. Then one time that I got a puncture wound, I went in and I was told that after so many your now good for life. They would not give me one. So I think that after a half dozen tetnus boosters, they figure your done.
