Default What spontaneous thing have you done lately?

What have you done lately that was spontaneous? Big or small, doesn't matter.

We (Are you done hearing me blather about this yet? ) drove 20 hours to Nashville, then 10 hours to VA on a uh... detour before going to my cousin's wedding. All so I could get the tattoo I've wanted done by the lead singer of my favorite band.

Up until 2 days before or so, we didn't even know if we were going, which, if you know me, you know is a big deal. I can be impulsive, but in general for things like that, I like to have everything planned out and double-checked in advance.

So what have you done lately that seemed crazy or spontaneous?

Lately, I haven't really been as spontaneous as I planned to be.

Well, I've been walking on the nature trail every day for exercise, but today it's been raining like a son of a-- uh, it's been pouring. So I spontaneously ducked over to the gym (waterlogging my shoes in the process) and rode a stationary bike for half an hour and five miles.

I'm not sure if "impulsive" is quite the same as "sponataneous" but... I bought a hedge trimmer. I was at Lowe's looking for something comepletely different, saw that they had one on clearance, thought "those bushes in front of the house could stand to be cut back" and bought it.

I went to a concert of a singer I'm quite fond of (Holly Near) who I'd only ever heard on my parents' old records. After the concert I spent over $40 on cds, which is really out of character for me. I mean, I have the money to spend, but I very rarely buy all that much of anything without some dithering. I blame the fact that I had to hurry to buy them and get them signed before catching my bus, and so I didn't have time to stop and think. It did seem pretty spontaneous, though. I don't regret it one bit.

I'm going on a spontaneous trip to Fiji! One of many reasons I love being single: if I get unexpected time off work I can just go on a holiday somewhere.

I've scheduled in a spontaneous act for Tuesday next week -I've established a small budget and identified a set of outcomes.

I've taken several unplanned naps. Does that count?

I decided to go to Seattle for the anniversary of the sinking of the F/V Katmai. I will get to visit with one of the other Moms who lost her DS, Joshua, go to the memorial, and go to Mass with her.

I am going alone. No husband, no kids. This is completely out of character for me.

Also, I decided to do something very cool with some of the insurance settlement money. While I don't feel comfortable telling exactly what it is, just know that two very deserving kids will be getting a leg up on life when they turn 21 (or 25, or whatever age their parents decide it's appropriate).
