Bah. All we get here is Columbus Day, and I don't even get a day off! I miss Canadian Thanksgiving.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving all.

I just got back from Thanksgiving dinner at my parents' place. I was expecting turkey, but my mom didn't want the bother and baked a ham instead. It was just as good. We had scalloped potatoes, too.

Yummy!

And then you all sat around and watched football right?
Happy Thanksgiving.

Heh. Actually, my dad was watching a race. The Le Mans, I think it was. Some kind of race, anyway. We're a non-traditional kind of Thanksgiving family.

There is no such thing as too much pumpkin pie.

Right on. Both the ones I baked are gone, plus most of the turkey.

Hope everyone had a good one.

Too true. I am having turkey stuffing and cherry pie for breakfast (or peach pie, I haven't decided yet). I figure there are only two or three days a year I can do it, so why not.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving to all Canadian (by birth or in their hearts) snopesters.

My wife couldn't decide whether to have ham or turkey, so we had a ham dinner (with the requisite scalloped potatoes) on Saturday, and we're having a turkey dinner tonight. Her parents joined us Saturday, and mine are coming tonight. (It's not that they don't like each other, we just don't have a big enough table for us, our three sons, one son's GF, and four parents.)

ETA - Oh, an pumpkin pie, like carrot cake, is a vegetable serving. Carrot cake with raisins is a fruit and a vegetable serving, but my wife hates raisins, so I need to eat two pieces of carrot cake to get the two servings.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yesterday was dinner at my in-law's place. Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, and caramel apple crisp for dessert. The best part is that all of the leftovers were sent home with me and all I had to do was wash dishes.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

I actually was going to celebrate this year, at least on the food part, but there were exactly 3 turkeys in my superjumbomarket when I did my hunting Saturday, so no go.

So I'll just dream of turkey and sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes and cranberries 7 different ways and 2 different kinds of stuffing and gravy and pies ....

Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadians, which I realize may be redundant. But hopefully you pick up on the sentiment.

Happy Thanksgiving!

When some friends and I traveled to Toronto on US TG weekend 2001, I was touched by how many people wished us a happy Thanksgiving. The proprietor of the B&B where we stayed even made a point of leaving her TG decorations out for our visit. I try to return the favor when I can.

Having just roused myself from a self induced turkey and punkin pie coma I realise I missed this thread earlier. Happy belated Thanksgiving.

FYI. Watching hockey after chowing down on turkey, gravy, potatoes, corn, fresh breaf, dressing and pumkin pie with whipped cream is great. Playing hockey after turkey etc, not so much.
