Default Presenting: the new TV series my son is in

I'm not really big on self-promotion, but we are pretty excited to be able to share the trailer for the new show my son is in, Dino Dan.

It's showing in January on Nickelodeon in the US, and TVO and other networks in Canada. It's also showing on Nick's network in Australia and New Zealand. My son is the guy wearing the octopus costume. He plays Corey, the comic relief.

PS - I've never embedded a video, and I don't know if I've done it correctly! Please PM me with tips is it's wrong.

PPS: I couldn't get the video to embed, without a whole lot of extraneous code. So, here's the link:

Dino Dan

I'll have to watch out for that one LynneJanet, it looks cute. If it's done to the same high standard that so many of the more recent kids shows coming out of Canada have been (Life With Derek to name one that comes to mind) then it should be good. Will he have a chance to work with any big names? Well big by Canadian standards anyhow .

It is done to very high standards (which has meant high costs, to Nick's chagrin, at some points, apparently) and has been so much fun. He's got about a month to go to finish the second season. He's worked with Andrea Martin, Sean Cullen, Mark McKinney & Kevin MacDonald (of Kids in the Hall), and several other Canadian comedians, which has been such a treat. Sandra Oh was very interested, because she worked with the lead "Dan" on another project, but couldn't make it fit her schedule.

The writing is really top notch. The show teaches kids about dinosaurs, without being in any way pedantic, and it pays homage to several classic genres, too. My son has some terrific lines, and they are really writing to his character and his talents now, so he it's just been a great experience. This week, he got to be a pirate captain, and a butler. He's also been Recycle Boy, Igor, Gingerbread Cory, Woodchopper Cory, Caveman Cory, and Goldilocks (I hope I'm not giving away too much of the show!).
