Default Can you Google that for me? (Firefox crashes)

I have a bit of a "don't know what you've got 'til it's gone" problem here...

Since I moved to my new university campus, Firefox has started crashing every time I run an Internet search for anything, using any search engine. (Well, not anything. "Define:" searches seem to go through, as do image searches. But any regular keyword-type searches make it explode.) I thought at first it was something-- maybe an ad-- on the results page itself, but Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" button ALSO crashes it.

I'm somewhat at my wits' end here. I have not only reinstalled, but upgraded Firefox; turned off all search-related add-ons; switched search engines; killed background programs. No-one else seems to be having this problem, from what I can tell. You'd think it was just this computer, but it's never done it before and I've had this thing more than four years.

Anyone any ideas? Asking people to Google things for me is getting old very quickly.
