Default It has been a great 30 years

30 years ago I married the love of my life and best friend, Alice. We are on a two week vacation right now. We have been to Nashville, Memphis, Vicksburg, and New Orleans. Tonight we are eating at Commander's Palace and tomorrow we leave for a long beach weekend in Destin, Florida. You younger folks may not believe it but 30 years fly by so always make the most of it. She has been with me through thick and thin; followed me around the world and then when I had to deploy to the war zones during GW1, Deny Flight, and Iraq she was so supportative (I volunteered) and loving and understanding. She got me through 9/11 as my stallwart supporter after I got blown out of the Pentagon and continues to hold my hand and love me as I battle with the subsequent PTSD. I only hope I have been as strong for her as she is for me. God, I love that woman. I still have that funny stomach feeling and heart throb each day I get to spend with her.

Congratulations, rangerdog.

You each picked a good one.

ETA: But then, what do I know about it? To hear my mum tell it, when she realized my dad was about to propose she decided that he was a pretty nice guy and decided to say yes. And that was 39 years ago. And they're more in love now than they've ever been, I think.

Congratulations, and I wish you many more years of happiness.

This really struck a chord with me:

My parents have been married 43 years. They still send each other a card on their wedding anniversary and on Valentine's Day. My Dad recently had a fever and slept in the spare room with the windows open, my Mum commented to me how much she missed him in the bed next to her.

I thank my lucky stars that I still have two parents who really do love each other.

Lots of congrats Mr & Mrs Rangerdog. I was just thinking about you today because we were talking about shapes & pentagon was one of the shapes. I talked just briefly about the Pentagon & how its shaped like a pentagon & where it is, etc.

You know, number of years doesn't impress me much because some people stick out unhappy unions way longer than they should. But 30 years where you still get butterflies and have supported each other through thick and thin-- that's something to celebrate!
Congratulations, and may you two have many, many more happy years together.

COngratulations to you both. Have been married for 41 years, I understand the feelings associated with true love as it grows and strengthens, and know how rare it is. You are bith very lucky. May you continue to enjoy each other for many long years to come.

Congratulations, and many more wonderful anniversaries.

We just had our 25th in May, but we've been dating since 1978 (first date: Sept 30, "going steady": Nov 4th), so I certainly understand how fast 30 years fly by. We still get butterflies, too, so I know how you feel.

All the best to you both.

Congratulations! We'll hit that mark in 3 years time, but I often get that same feeling. I guess we're both lucky!
