In a major turnaround from the previous rejection, two thirds of the Irish electorate voted to accept the amendment to our constitution and ratify the EU Lisbon Treaty.
I'm very pleased that my constituency gave the highest endorsement with 82% in favour. All eyes now turn to the Czech Republic. I'm glad the spotlight is off us, as the uncertainty was doing us no favours. The EU eyes a bigger global role, when the Treaty is fully in place. However, in the UK, London's Conservative mayor Boris Johnson, says British people should be "consulted" on parts of the treaty even if it is ratified. |

Let's hope the Czech puts a stop to this madness, or at least that we get a government that takes Sweden out of the EU.
And I say that even though the Lisbon Treaty will give the Pirate Party one more seat in the parliament.
