Default Guinea pig pregnancies, round 2

I mentioned on a thread several months ago that I thought my guinea pig was pregnant. She isn't, but her new cagemate is. I did not make a post about the newest addition because around the time I took her in (she is a rehomed piggie), MapleLeaf and Puddingcrawl had lost their furry friends, and I thought it might be a bit insensitive.

I took Maya a little less than a month ago from a breeder who could not keep her because she did not get along with the other female(s). I believe she has been bullied in the past because one of her ears is torn. Her previous owner said that Maya had been placed with a male guinea pig but did not know if she was pregnant. Thankfully, she agreed to take the babies if the guinea pig was in fact pregnant. Otherwise I would not have taken her.

Is it safe to house a new mother guinea pig with another female? I'm worried that my other pig, the dominant one, might hurt the babies.
