Hoping the Snopesters who work at colleges and universities can point me in the right directions.
To start off with, as I announced in another thread, I've decided to go to school to get my degree in telecommunications. I have my eye on getting a bachelor's, and with that in mind, I applied to CU which offers one. (They even offer a Master's in it, but I don't know that I'm that ambitious.) A friend of mine goes to Arapahoe Community College and suggested I get an associate's from them, then transfer to CU, pointing out that it might be less expensive. My concern: I've heard horror stories about credits/degress not being accepted by other schools. My friend said she's never heard of a problem with that, and obviously it would be best to speak to advisors from both schools about that. My question is, how do I nail the schools down exactly on that? How do I keep them from telling me what serves their best interests, or what I want to hear just to get me to enroll? How do I find out for certain what would be accepted if I get an associate's from one school (which doesn't offer a bacheor's, BTW) accepted at another school to 'build on' (is that even how it works?) Magdalene
