From the Boston Herald:
http://www.bostonherald.com/news/us_...s#CommentsArea A candidate named Joe Kennedy (not Sen. Kennedy's nephew, the former U.S. representative), a member of the Libertarian Party, is "collecting signatures to run as an independent." Not the first time a Kennedy not part of the famous family has been on a ballot in Massachusetts. In 1954 John F. Kennedy, a high school dropout and stockroom worker, was elected state treasurer. One wonders if the Kennedy name will sway some voters, although the Democrats seem almost sure to take the general election. Thanks. Bill |
