TV Rotten Tomatoes: Worst of the Worst [movies] 2000-2009

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/guides..._of_the_worst/

I managed to get through the decade having seen only four of these, one of which, Whiteout, was just last week. The other three (in white): Envy, Good Luck Chuck, and Deuces Wild. I'd have to admit, the latter three all belong on the list. I didn't think the first was all that bad.

Looking at that list put me in mind of when I used to run out of things to watch and trek down to Blockbuster. Before heading over to the classics or foreign section, i'd have a quick browse on the main wall and would be left scratching my head, wondering just 'where' all that sh*t came from and how much money is actually poured into movies that no bugger will even hear about, let alone watch.

The only two movies I've seen from this list are #1 and #2. #1, I agree, was awful. I barely remember seeing it. #2 I actually thought was OK. Not great, not horrible. Just OK.

Out of that, I've only seen Battlefield Earth and 20% of Date Movie.

Apart from those parody movies I hadn't even heard of most of the list.

Just because it's sh*t doesn't mean no one will watch it.

Of the ones I've seen I can't remember anything about 'Fear Dot Com' or 'Bless the Child'

'Battlefield Earth', however, is great - it goes off the bad end of the spectrum and right back into the good zone. It's so ineptly crafted in every single aspect that it's wildly entertaining, when viewed in the right mindset.

er, chemical assistance?

My kids were big into the Yu-Gi-Oh stuff back when the movie came out, so I had to take them to it. It was the TV show writ large, so no one got other than what they expected, at least.

I saw part of Good Luck Chuck when I borrowed some DVDs at a motel - horrible scripting as befits one of the worst concepts to build a movie around.

Happily I've only seen about 6 of the films on that list and one of them I actually rather liked Uptown Girls - it was cute but the rest, I agree, were complete dreck. I could have told you that without seeing them though, and all of them except two were movies my husband picked because he's a sucker for anything that's bloody, and so often bloody movies are really really awful. I think because some producers just figure as long as they have lots of red gushiness and some gratutious boobs, you don't have to bother with plot, character development, acting, etc.

I've seen Deck the Halls, which was awful, as was Date Movie. Of all of the ones on the list that I've seen, Epic Movie had to be the worst. I can't think of a single point where anyone in the audience laughed, and it was supposed to be a comedy.

Isn't "Date/Epic/Meet The Spartans" pretty much the same movie with different costumes? Fortunately, I haven't seen many of these. Although I thought BloodRayne was perfect for a Saturday afternoon SyFy Channel movie. It just set its sights too high.

Me either. I've only even heard of a few of them. Maybe I need to get out more. Or not.

I've seen four of those movies. Three of them just happened to be on TV on a Sunday when I had nothing to do and there was nothing else on except football or baseball.

The only one we ever rented to watch was Gigli. We made an event of it, made popcorn and invited over friends to share the mockery.

I've only seen 2 of them...and seriously, why are we spoilering the list? Anyway...I've seen Son of the Mask (which I only saw the last...40 minutes or so) and Master of Disguise...SotM, because there was nothing else on (and, hey, I like Alan Cummings), MoD because my mother and grandmother decided to watch it and made me watch it with them.

Still, neither of them were that terrible...MoD certainly didn't deserve to be as high on the list as it was - it was the better of the two, frankly.

The rest of the list...I haven't even heard of half of them.

One Missed Call is #2? Really? I mean, yeah, it was pretty lame, but second worst movie of the decade? At least it had its entertaining moments (which anything with Ray Wise is guaranteed to have); there've been plenty of other movies totally lacking in those (some of which made this list but got higher numbers).

The only film from the list that I have seen is The Covenant which, in my defence, I only bought to see if it was as bad as everyone says (it is) and whether it was so bad that it would lend itself to MST3K style japes (it does not, it's just poo).

Wow, I haven't seen a single one of those films, I guess I should consider myself lucky?

I may have seen Big Mama's House 2, but it would have been because my inlaws rented it. I know I've seen Deck the Halls and Christmas with the Kranks, because my wife loves those movies; I can not for the life of me understand why. I keep trying to tell her that just because it is a Christmas-themed movie doesn't mean we have to watch it.

I think I've seen 7-1/2 of them. I think I've seen part of Yours, Mine, and Ours, but that's because I remember the original.
