Fact of the matter is, it might not be fact at all

I received another warning the other day that all of our cell phone numbers are about to be given to commercial enterprises to drive us crazy with dinnertime calls.

I did what I usually do in that situation. I looked at Snopes.com, an Internet Web site that is a clearing house for wild rumors of all kinds. Snopes tries to get to the bottom of those rumors and set them straight.

It’s fun to read all the misconceptions, lies and pitfalls of the gullible on every conceivable subject, political, scientific, commercial and otherwise that you will find on Snopes.
