Car ploughs into school children

Eight children have been taken to hospital after a car ploughed into a group of nine-year-olds in Suffolk.

I wonder what the "dangerous driving" implies in the article. Was the woman drunk or not paying attention or something else?

Dangerous Driving

With a charge of dangerous driving the test is for the prosecution to show your driving fell far below that what would be expected of a competent and careful driver and it would be obvious to this driver that driving in that way would be dangerous.

This is absolutely horrible. And I'm really not trying to minimize the horror involved... but I seem to be having an irony-laden day today:

A 21-year-old man, who was on his way to the funeral of a friend killed in a car accident, was also hurt.

I certainly hope everyone will be all right.
