Ambulance My 17 year old son saved my husband's life!

Literally!

Jerry was choking and Jase jumped up and did the Heimlich maneuver and saved his life!

We were eating dinner and talking and joking because earlier Jerry had referred to McDonald's food as "cakes 'n stuff". And Jase said something and Jerry replied with a really witty comeback (and I can't even remember what it was now!). We all laughed and then Jerry started flailing his arm (he can only use the one) toward the back of his head and not making any noise.

I said, "Are you okay? Can you breathe?" and he shook his head.

So, Jase hit him on the back (because that was his gestures- to hit him on the back). Nothing. Before I could even say the words, Jase jumped to his feet, put his arms around him and did the Heimlich maneuver! *whited out for the squeamish* Anyone who has ever choked or done the Heimlich knows what follows- Jerry threw up everything.

I'm still in tears. Jerry's fine. Jase is oddly humble right now, because normally he'd be bragging about the smallest thing.

There's no words to describe how proud I am of him and how happy I am he quit the football team (otherwise, he'd have been at practice instead of home).
