Glasses Pool balls 'part oil' on new projection table

Pool balls appear to part oil as they roll along the cloth, on an innovative billiard table being showcased in New York.

wow.. really expensive recycling of older cheaper technology.. $80,000 for a proejector and a high end pc? seriously?
(mind you when Best Buy charges $129 to plug three color coded rca plugs into your tv, maybe this is going to be the new norm.)

And the best picture they can come up with to reveal under the oil is a scantily dressed woman - ooh! clever and classy

I just looked at the video... i can do what they are doing RIGHT NOW with my current projector, and an xbox360 and a Live Camera using one of the default 360 dashboard modes. (now of course it wouldn't be "exactly" the same (no ladies in bikinis), but close enough...

So with that said, if anyone is interested in having something like this installed, let me know.. I will come to your house with all the gear required and install it for a bargain price of $40,000 (50% Savings!!!!) can't be beat!

My thoughts on the subject: It must be annoying as hell to play on that surface. How do you aim properly with that much moving background?

Custom technology costs. You don't pay for the hardware, you pay for the development costs and the setup.

Well, the could have gone with a more unorthodox pool related theme, with a cue, two hairy balls and some pink holes...

The shopping mall here has had a similar thing for young kids to play video games on the floor for several years now. It projected about a 10 x 8 image on the floor. Then it reacted to what the kids were doing while standing and walking on the image.

Westlake has one of those too. Scared the pants off our toddler when we tried to let her play on it.

Well that seems like a waste of money, to each their own though I suppose.
