Megan Fox was the target of an open letter from unnamed 'Transformers' crew members slamming her as thankless, classless, graceless, dumb, trailer trash, and ungracious after she likened director Michael Bay to Hitler in an interview.

Well unless Michael Bay has slaughtered 11 million ethnic minorities recently, I think the insults are deserving.

He may not have killed 6 million Jews but Michael Bay has destroyed the brain cell equivalent of 6 million people. I think it's an entirely apt comparison and yes, I will go ahead and thwack myself.
Also I am not being facetious at all and everyone should continue to take what I am talking about 100% seriously just as you always have before.

As opposed to publishing an anonymous, defamatory "open letter", which is totally classy!

Well don't know about all that, but she is a a terrible actress and not so exceptionally "hot" that I can't imagine there are young women just as "hot" that actually have some acting talent. So I wonder what the allure is everytime I see one of those horrible "Jennifer's Body" commercials.

I remember reading Megan Fox's quote a few weeks ago. She likened him to Hitler in that he liked to be the complete dictator of the movie set. Probably not the best comparison, I'll grant. But she did it to juxtapose it to her next comment that said he was completely adorable and dorky when you meet him off the set.
I've only seen her act in the first Transformers. I don't know if she's any good, nor do I know how she treats the crew on set (but I did read a Diablo Cody interview where Fox was described as more reserved and not outgoing). I think she's going to get hammered because she likes to speak her mind and she tells the truth as she sees it, which people in the movie industry hate to see women do. Whether or not her interpretation fits reality is up for debate, but I laugh like hell almost every time I read one of her interviews. I find her interesting. But I'll only go see one of her movies if she can actually act, which I'm not sure about yet.

The actress has set the celebu-world afire with her sultry looks and frank comments. Will this candor ultimately hurt her film career?

But understandable in an industry where you can be unemployed on a whim that has nothing to do with whether or not you have talent and everything to do with whether or not one person wants you there.

The Megan Fox backlash makes me laugh almost as much as that of Angelina Jolie (although admittedly Jolie is a much better actress and less-deserving of the scorn). It's like every whiny little 14 year old who's mad that they will never get to have sex with her has united in hating her ("Oh, but at least she's hot!" being the addendum). I'm not arguing that Fox is a good actress, although whenever I've seen her in interviews she's been nothing but accomodating and friendly. That said, I'm looking at you "feminists" who storm in any time someone has something bad to say about Sarah Jessica Parker. Not seeing the same tirades here, which says all that needs to be said, IMO.

You mean since I'm a feminist, I'm supposed to worship Sarah Jessica Parker?! Man, miss one meeting of the Secret Feminazi Cabal and you're completely out of the loop on everything.

Bwah? Most feminists I know consider Sex and the City a guilty pleasure at best and somewhat offensive at worst. (I am in the former camp, FWIW.) I don't know that I've ever heard any self-described feminist take offense at criticism of Sarah Jessica Parker. Seriously, what on earth are you getting at here?

Will nobody free Sarah Jessica Parker from this, her prison of woe and disgust? Sarah Jessica Parker is a fine lady who was on both Sex and the City and that movie from the 1980s with Steve Martin! All of you heaping your scorn on Sarah Jessica Parker are no better than that blonde woman who sleeps with all the dudes and who is occasionally catty towards Sarah Jessica Parker and who was in Big Trouble in Little China! I would bring up Mario Cantone but I don't think he was in any movies in the 1980s!

You're all entirely wrong, actually. At least one feminist, Melissa Silverstein who writes for the Huffington Post and has her own blog Women And Hollywood, has criticised misogynistic treatment of Sarah Jessica Parker, calling for Maxim cover stars to boycott the magazine because of their description of her as the "unsexiest woman alive."
And where is this so-called Melissa Silverstein now, eh? It's not like she's sticking up for Megan Fox now that she's been described as "dumb as a rock," is it? Or describing it as emblematic of Hollywood's massively troubling attitude to women? The hypocrisy of these feminist bloggers totally appals me. What's that you say? She totally has? Oh. Is it too late to delete that last paragraph, I wonder. |

But she did turn into a mannequin after that... where were the feminists then?

Just to nitpick, L.A. Story is from 1991. That was the movie you were talking about, wasn't it?

I was, but I was in high school at the time and therefore it was from the 80s. Stop tempting me with your lies, feminazi!
