Snake Malaysian Snake

Comment: The subject title of the email was "snake found in penang, malaysia" with no further information. What do snopes think, is this a real snake? Is it as big as it looks or has it been photoshopped?

To me, the picture looks a bit out of proportion. It looks like the bucket size is huge, but the tractor although large, does not look like it could handle a huge bucket. My guess is the bucket is is the neighborhood of 4 feet. Which would make this snake somewhere in the neighborhood of 15-16 feet.

That was my first thought, too. It took me a minute and some head tilting to get it all figured out.

The snake looks pretty real, and plausible, to me.

No

That poor snake had beautiful markings. Too bad it was killed. Most likely it was minding its own business.

Snake

I think it could be a real picture. The reticulated python, which can be found in Malaysia, can grow to almost 30 feet.

Looks real to me. At first I thought it was a crazy big snake but after noticing that the bucket was so much closer then it made more sense. Not that it's a small snake by any means...

Fifteen to sixteen feet of snake. Not something I'd like to see out in the open. The pattern of its skin is gorgeous, though.

Excavators can use quite a wide verity and sizes of buckets depending on the job they are doing. Based on the number of teeth on the end and the approximate size of the excavator, I will agree with you that it is about a 4 foot wide bucket at most. The arm is also extended out toward us about 12-15 feet as a guess.

I'm with you on that one. Don't they compete with anacondas about being the World's largest snakes?

Looks real to me. It is a reticulated python, which are the longest snakes. Anacondas are the heaviest.

Biggest retic ever was about 33', 330 pounds. Biggest anaconda ever was about 25', 500 lbs. So they each get their own titles.

Reptilians circulate this photo with a caption identifying it as "human found in penang, malaysia."
