Yesterday, I found out that a religious speaker came to speak to the kids at the (public) school. I was very angry about it, so I posted about it on Facebook. (You know, because that is the most constructive thing to do.

) Pretty quickly I had messages from teachers at the school asking why in the world I had a problem with it

. I tried to explain why I feel the way I do, but that didn't cut it for them. I ended up getting the nonapology of "I'm sorry you were offended."
The speaker wasn't there to speak about religion. I've heard him speak before (very likely when I was at that very same school) and his message is about the ills of drugs. But, he stresses that is was the "power of Christ" that got him off of drugs.
Am I overreacting at being upset about this? I'm afraid that I've alienated some of the people that I really respect, and that I've made it harder for my kids at school. And I'm sure that this will get back to my mother and I will have to hear her boo hoo about what this has done to her
