The article says it was 16 inches long - sounds about right: it was somewhat more than a foot.

I'm not sure if I am missing a reference here, but the foot I see has 4 very distinct toes at least.

Doesn't it appear to be part (the foot, I suppose) of another animal that was exiting out the snake's side?
