Default I have the swine flu!

I think I might be the first snopster to have it, so I wanted to brag a bit.

I started feeling like crap on friday (which might have contributed to my stunning performance here on Friday), and several of my co-workers left early. I was down all day Saturday in bed with aching and moaning and TMIthe worst diahreah I';ve ever had.

Sunday, I was able to make it to the couch where thankfully American football helped me get through another day of the same symptoms.

Called in today and talked to my boss who is home with, guess what! The swine flu. Seems like several peeps are out.

At least today, it's leaving my gut somewhat alone and is sitting in my chest.

Sucks. I haven't been able to eat for three days now. I';m going to try some dry toast a bit later. Thank the gods for the wonderful Rishi Sweet Mint tisane. It's been a godsend.

I had Swine Flu in August, I'm afraid, so as always I'm ahead of the trend. It's like when I blamed Abu Ghraib, or more accurately the American people's tolerance for torture in their name, on the television series 24 long before anyone else did.

I'm an early adopter. The consumer electronics industry depends on people like me.

Aimee Evilpixie had it last week, I think.

Glad you're feeling better, Ryda.

Well I'm feeling crap today and didn't make it into work - tired, shaky, dizzy, headache and sneezing, but nothing that would seem (to me) to be actually flu-like (but very definitely not safe to drive in this state). Can't work out if I'm hungry or not - really weird. Living on lemon barley water. Normal flu can flatten me, so if this is the pandemic it is mild by comparison.

I called in sick the Friday before last with the flu and have been fighting it for the past week. It's just about gone now - all that's really left is a stuffed-up nose and that could just be Seattle. Whether it was actually the swine flu or just some other zany strain (scorpion flu? otter flu?) I have no idea because I never went to the doctor.

All you sickos be sure not to breathe or sneeze on the interwebs - I don't want to get it!

Hope you are feeling better soon, Ryda, and any of you other infected Snopesters out there too.

I was reading an article last week (can't remember where, but I'll try to find it) that basically said if you had flu symptoms over the last 4 months (maybe 6 months), what you had was likely swine flu.

Yup, I just got better on Thursday/Friday and I'm back to work today. The cough lingers, though.

Me too Actually, I know a few people who caught it. One of them was one of the kids who went on that trip to Cancun and brought it back to New York with them. Most people referred to their school as 'Swine Flu High' for a while

Yeah when I had the flu back in June the cough lingered for 3 weeks. The actual being sick wasn't so bad, just the lingering cough that would not go away.
