Computer blues

My old Pentium 3 finally gave up the ghost sometime last Tuesday, after about eight or ten years of reasonably faithful service, and my stepfather (who does all of the computer-related stuff in the house) bought me a new one and, after a bit of minor trouble with the delivery of it, managed to get it set up and in running order earlier today. Now, I have to (a) learn all the ins and outs of Windows Vista and (b) re-install/download/procure whatever cam't be salvaged from the old hard drive, which might well be everything. And it ain't a pretty process, lemme tell you. (It took the two of us ten minutes just to figure out how to make the bloody font big enough so I could read it without further eyestrain...)
