Soapbox "Comfirmation" (sic)

----
Comfirmation

I am 14 years old and am about to be confirmed for my religion class. I am very excited. Not because of the religious part, but because my biggest dream is about to come true. See, I live with my grandparents, my mom lost custody of me when I was little, my dad lives away too, and I have someone named Alice who is like a mother to me. See, the day I get confirmed is the day when my family will be together without fighting, JUST FOR ME!!! I will be sitting in between my mom and dad for the first time in my life. My mom and dad only dated for a couple of months before I was born, so I have never seen both of them at the same time. Everyone will get along, and the whole church is going to see me WITH MY PARENTS!!! It's unusual, but that is my dream, to see my family get along and be able to hug both my parents at the same time for everyone to see. I almost cry just thinking about it and I will definately cry when it happens. This is how much I love my family and want to be with them. I have grown up basically without a father and a lot of time without a mother. But now I am able to say, for the very first time, that I have actual parents who love me.
----

I'll bet her grandparents and Alice would love to know that she doesn't consider them "actual parents". Ungrateful snot.

Well, if you come from my family, we can never get together without someone(usually the same one) starting some $hit.

I didn't even know there was a glurge.com

Huh...I would say I'd check it out, but I do not want to vomit so soon after lunch.

A couple of months? Er ... Possibly nobody has told the girl that her dad isn't really her dad, then?

Maybe that's why they broke up.

Girl's Mom: Just one more thing... err, I'm pregnant already. Not sure who the father is. Got it narrowed down to about 15.

Girl's "Dad": Ahh, right. Something I need to tell you... err, I've got a new job... in, err, Alaska. That's right Alaska. Gotta go, now. Byeee.

Yes, you will cry when you find out many parents don't actually put things aside even for a special occasion. Maybe mom and dad won't fight, not knowing each other, but I can see some bad blood between the mom and grandparents if there was a custody issue.

In high school before I knew much about my (now) husband's family, I offered to trade graduation tickets with him so both of our divorced families could sit apart. Turns out his parents get on just fine. It completely boggled my mind that divorced parents could possibly not hate each other.

What, you've never typed a (something).com in just to see if it works?

Then gotten morbidly curious?
